    As per IS 456:2000, the lap length for tension is:

    Lap Length=40×d(For Tension Zone)

    Lap Length=24×d(For Compression Zone)

  6. Cranked Bars (Bent-up Bars):

    For bars bent at an angle of 45°, the additional length due to the crank is:

    Crank Length=d/sin⁡(θ) =1.42×d

    Where:

    • d = Diameter of the bar
